Analynn Patterson

Office Staff

Analynn grew up riding the trails in the Santa Cruz Mountains above Corralitos. She was active in 4-H Horse Science and Horsemanship, and showing Western. The “Black Stallion” books she read inspired Analynn’s interest in drawing and painting. While earning her BFA, she painted watercolor scenes from horse racetracks. Her favorite horse breeds are Connemara, Andalusian, Lipizzaner and Lusitano. When she moved to Monterey County in 1986, Analynn began riding English, and fell in love with a Connemara mare and Dressage. Her mare, Tre Awain Kathleen, has had two foals. One of Anaylnn’s favorite days at SCEC was “foal duty” with a newborn. Analynn is the proud mother of son Devon, now in college studying music.

Giga Cullen

Hospital Manager

Giga was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. Raised between Brasil and Hawaii, the ocean was her passion, but her hidden talent and love for horses were to change her life. Giga had been studying at the University of Hawaii, pursuing an Animal Science degree and managing a pony farm on the north shore of Oahu when, in 1978, she was offered an opportunity to manage the school horse operation at Riley Wilson’s Hunter/Jumper barn in Laguna Seca. So she moved to Salinas. Her interest led Giga to assist Dr. Deter and Dr. Fowler with the broodmare operation at the Laguna Seca Ranch Stallion Station. This breeding farm stood Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse, Warmblood and occasional Arabian stallions; mares were foaled and covered; weanlings and yearlings trained. At its peak, the station cared for up to 400 head. Giga enjoys trail riding and jaunts on the beach with her dog.
